On behalf of the Omicron Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi, I would like to welcome all new and returning members to the 2009 season of The Pride of West Virginia. I have been working diligently to put together an exciting week of band camp. This includes all spirit days and the band camp picnic. I am very excited and hope you are too.

The purpose of Spirit Days is to make band camp more exciting. It is also a good bonding activity with people in your rank and section. Everyone has fun with this every year and I hope that this year is no different. I hope you all like what I have come up with and that you will participate. The male and female that have the most "spirit" for that specific day will get a prize. The themes for each day are as follows:

• Sunday - High School Spirit Day
• Monday - Snappy Casual Day
• Tuesday - Fat Tuesday (Mardi Gras)
• Wednesday - Food Icon Day
• Thursday - Rank Dress Alike Day
• Friday - Halloween/Superhero Day
• Saturday - Gold and Blue Day

During Band Camp, there is an annual picnic that Kappa Kappa Psi puts on for the band. The purpose of this is to socialize with friends and get to know the new members in a relaxed environment. The picnic will take place on Tuesday August 18th at 5pm and theme will be Mardi Gras. The menu planned for this was based on the concept of Mardi Gras in New Orleans. We will have Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, and Veggie Burgers. Another authentic Mardi Gras entrée will be King Cake!!  

Attention 4 year seniors!!! It has finally arrived; it is your time to shine in the spotlight. Please e-mail pictures of you and your friends throughout your time with The Pride so I can start assembling the slideshow. I can't wait to see everyone in August and hope this makes you that much more excited to return to school. Let's Go, Mountaineers!!!
