The WVU Basketball Pep Band is a highly select group of students who perform for all home men’s and women’s basketball games, and the group also travels to support the teams in the Big East and NCAA Tournaments.  Recent travel destinations have included Tampa, FL, New York City, Austin, TX, Albuquerque, NM, and Indianapolis, IN for the Men’s Final Four (among many other great destinations – at no cost to the members!).  This group is open to any student at WVU but is selected by a competitive audition which will occur sometime in the early part of the Fall semester.  Instrumentation for this exciting group is limited to alto, tenor, and bari saxes, trumpets, mellophones, trombones, baritones, tubas, drumset and bass guitar.  The group receives a complete uniform, comprised of NIKE team apparel and includes shirt, warm-up outfit, and shoes.  Even though this is technically a “second semester” class, the group is formed and rehearses and performs before the end of the Fall semester.  Information about auditions for this group will be announced during marching band rehearsals sometime in the month of September.
